Our Lady of the Lake College is an independent Catholic institution, sponsored by the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady, North American Province. Evolving from the foundation of excellence begun in 1923 by Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing, this newest of independent colleges primarily educates students to serve as health care providers. Fully accredited as a four-year institution, the College has a liberal arts and science curriculum of core courses selected to provide students with the ability to think critically, logically, and creatively, and to communicate effectively. Our Lady of the Lake College also espouses the goals of life-long learning and seeks to provide educational programs that support personal and professional growth. Since its founding in 1990 as Our Lady of the Lake College, the College has grown significantly from an initial enrollment of 120 to more than 1900 students, making it one of the fastest growing postsecondary institutions –public or private – in Louisiana.
